The Cooper Ornithological Society hosts annual meetings where professionals, educators, students, and bird enthusiasts alike gather to interact and share the latest discoveries in the field of ornithology.  Meetings consist of seminars, poster presentations, and specialized collaborative sessions.  Students are especially encouraged to attend.  Information is available on Student Travel Awards and Student Presentation Awards.  Below you will find details of past, current, and future meetings of the COS and how to participate:

Next Meeting

The next annual meeting of the Cooper Ornithological Society will be held 4-9 August 2008 in Portland, Oregon and in conjunction with the American Ornithologists’ Union and the Society of Canadian Ornithologists. Please see the meeting website for further details.

Past Meetings

 • The 77th Annual Meeting was held in Moscow, Idaho on June 19-23, 2007.
 • The 76th Annual Meeting was held in Veracruz, Mexico on October 2-7, 2006.
 • The 75th Annual Meeting was held in Arcata, California on June 15-18, 2005.
 • The 74th Annual Meeting was held in LaCrosse, Wisconsin on May 5-9, 2004.
 • The 73rd Annual Meeting was held in Flagstaff, Arizona on April 29-30, 2003.
 • The 72nd Annual Meeting was held in New Orleans, Louisiana on September 24, 2002.
 • The 71st Annual Meeting was held in Albuquerque, New Mexico on April 18, 2001.
 • The 70th Annual Meeting was held in Riverside, California on April 25-26, 2000.
